This is old'ish news, but if you still haven't downloaded the Fan-Fanzine/Camp Indie sampler from the Øya Festival website you need to do it NOW.

Nice to be read by you.
It feels good.

We at Sellout have pretty much loved this year so far, and we're loving it more and more.
The Hiawata! single release kicked of the year and was AWESOME. BIGGEST single ever! (in terms of b-sides that is. we had 9 b-sides! sheesh!)

That was followed by the summer album of the year: These boys and this band is all i know.
It's soooooo good.
If you love your share of teenage fanclub, big star, weezer, beezewax, dinosaur jr and lemonheads you're absolutely gonna love this album.

True story.

Next up is a couple of gems.
First we'll introduce our newest members of the family to you:
Munn Til Munn Metoden.
We'll release a remix EP by them for FREE.
It'll feature some great remixes they've done and a few that they're working on right now and it'll be called Remix EP.
If that's not an inventive title i don't know what is.

Later one this year we'll release their debut single and early next year their debut album, or mini-album actually.

It will be awesome, and it will make you want to dance your self soaking wet.
We loved them from the first time we streamed their demos on myspace and we sent them an e-mail right away. Stuff like that happens very rarely, and we sure do love it when it does happen.

More news will come soon.
Just need to get it confirmed and stuff like that.

The first you'll hear from Hiawata!'s superb new album will be the FREE - yes, free! - mp3 single Valley boys.

In addition to the great new song Valley boys you'll get a big bunch of free b-sides.
The b-sides will be other great bands doing covers of Hiawata! songs. Some of the acts that are confirmed are Monzano, My Little Pony and Harrys Gym. Great bands playing great songs.

Also, thanks to everyone showing up at Klubb Sellout where Hiawata! and the lovely new band Human Heat played great sets before we DJ'ed and and you danced. We had fun.

Beezewax on Sellout!

This fall we'll release a remastered reissue of Beezewax's legendary debut album from 1997. It'll include some lovely linernotes and awesome bonustracks. We've heard some of the remastered tracks, and they sound AMAZING. Hard to believe they were just teenagers when they wrote and recorded this album. Exact date will be posted soon.

Hiawata! will return to the studio to record their second album in October. The album will be produced by Kenneth Ishak who also produced the ridiculously good Blacks On Blondes EP, so it'll probably be pretty damn amazing. The album will be released early next year and it will probably be one of your favourite records of 2009.
Great songs, great band and a great producer.

We're feeling extra friendly these days so we're offering the first track from Hiawata!s upcoming EP Blacks on Blondes for free. Yup. You heard us. Free. So go ahead and download the song Animal from our or their myspace, listen to it and love it like an animal.

The EP will be out in Norwegian stores on the 19th of May.

Ken Stringfellow's contribution to our brand new EP series The Sellout Cover Sessions will be out in Norwegian stores april 7th, and through our mailorder the week before. Do you want to order it directly from us? If so, send us an e-mail.

In support of this release Ken Stringfellow will do an instore show at the lovely Big Dipper shop here in Oslo april 8th 7PM. Be there. Have a good time. Buy the EP and some other records (they've got a great vinyl section at Big Dipper). After the instore, go and have some dinner, drink some beer or vine and go straight to John Dee where Ken will be doing a show with the Posies.

The EP will be out in the US, Spain, Portugal and other territories shortly after that.

SellOut! Music has now signed a distribution deal for Norway with the lovely people at Musikk Operatørene. They will handle our upcoming releases and backcatalog here in Norway, and they'll also do some export.

You can now check out some fresh tracks from two of our upcoming releases in our mediaplayer at our myspace.

The releases are Ken Stringfellow - The Sellout Cover Sessions vol.1 (EP) and Hiawata! Blacks on Blondes (EP).

Hiawata! beat us in the uploading race and uploaded the song Animal before us, so since we can't let them be better than us we give you TWO songs from the EP.

The hipsters over at the webzine Furore I Harare loved the song and have all-freakin-ready posted an amazing review of the song. Check it.

Hiawata! on the upcoming Oslo! compilation

The very nice Oslo based label Spoontrain Audio is releasing a compilation of Oslo based acts with at least one foot firmly placed in wonderfull world of pop. This release is a tribute to the lovely indie-pop scene in Oslo, and we think this is a great idea. Why didn't we think of it first?

Anyways, let's get to tha point.
Hiawata! has been given the honour of closing the CD with their anthem "Dylan MacKay" which also can be found on their debut mini album They Could Have Been Bigger Than Hiawata! (which was released by US, your favourite sellouts).

New Hiawata! EP out this spring!

In october last year Hiawata! entered Kenneth Ishak's studio with a bunch of new songs that resulted in the 5 track EP Blacks On Blondes. They finished up the recording and mixing in February and it was mastered yesterday. It sounds amazing. Hits all over the place and lots of guest appearances by Kenneth on backing vocals and lead guitar. Kenneth does a mean j.mascis impersonation here!

So when will this 5-track wonder be out, and when can you hear some tracks? Well, we'll upload some tracks to our myspace when we've got the cover art, and we're aiming for a May release. There'll probably be some shows around that time as well.

Finally, the new website is here.
Amazing huh?

Well, it's not as fancy as the old one, but since we made it by ourselves it we'll also be able to update it all by ourselves as well. And do you know what that means? Well, more frequent updates! Gotta love that!

We've also added a blog, but for now it's a Norwegian blog. I hope that's ok.

Anyways.
The website isn't entirely finished. There's still a couple of sections that are under construction, but we're getting closer and closer and closer and closer and....you know. Closer.
